My goal was to create the best tasting, most simple Turkey meatloaf recipe, and here it is! This turkey meatloaf is packed with flavor, is incredibly moist in the center and has a nice crispy coating. It has become a Kino warrior and family favorite! Once you taste it, you will instantly be hooked and will want to make this recipe a staple in your diet.
Here is why this recipe is so awesome...
We all live busy lives and don’t have the time to be in the kitchen all day cooking and preparing our meals, we want something that’s simple and quick, but not something that’s boring and bland. That’s where this recipe comes in handy. I have limited the list of ingredients to create the most time efficient recipe that still tastes incredible. Once it’s all mixed and popped in the oven, you can continue on with your day or bang out that workout that you need to get done while it is cooking.
Another great reason why this recipe is so awesome is that you can prep for the week. This recipe makes 8 slices, so if you are having 2 slices per meal then you have 4 days meals covered in one shot! Which is so awesome.
Here are the benefits and why the KINO warriors love it...
This recipe is packed with protein and so versatile as well. I usually cut out 8 portions of this loaf which gives me 24g of protein and only 240 calories each. This recipe is super filling and can be perfect for anyone who is cutting body fat or lean bulking. The KINO warriors are loving how versatile this recipe is as well, creating Turkey meatloaf sandwich’s or turkey meatloaf balls, I have even seen a turkey meatloaf poutine being done!!
Here’s what the KINO warriors had to say about this recipe:
1) Preheat oven to 400 degrees F, 204 degrees Celsius.
2) On a chopping board, chop the garlic very fine.
3) Mix in all ingredients in an oven safe 8” x 10” Corning ware or on a baking sheet except the BBQ sauce. Form into a loaf shape.
4) Put in the oven for 50 – 60 minutes.
5) Remove and brush some BBQ sauce on the entire surface.
6) Return to oven for another 10 minutes.
7) Remove and let cool for 10 minutes.
8) Cut into 8 slices, enjoy with some rice or potatoes and veggies.
There are many ways you can simply change or swap any ingredient in this recipe to personalize it. For instance, if you prefer to use beef, chicken or pork then go ahead. You will need to simply adjust the calories and macros accordingly.
Other swaps you can make are:
-You can swap the BBQ SAUCE for KETCHUP.
-You can swap the SPICES for YOUR PERSONAL FAVORITE.
-You can swap the SALSA for YOUR SAUCE OF CHOICE.
-You can add chopped mushrooms or hot peppers!! To change the texture or make it spicy!!
-Gluten free!! No problem!! Replace the bread crumbs for ROLLED OATS, brown rice cereal or gluten free bread crumbs.
-You can also replace the whole eggs for egg whites.
Personally, I love eating my meatloaf with a side of crispy potato wedges and some veggies, usually bell pepper or broccoli. But there are no rules here!! You can have a side of rice or quinoa and a huge salad, or just the meat loaf and veggies and save the carbs for later on.
I always break my fast with my KINO collagen pancakes, at only 600 calories. This leaves me plenty of room for the turkey meatloaf feast.
Here is how I would set this up for a full day of eating following an intermittent fasting protocol.
Wake up at 7 am – only water and black coffee
Meal 1:12pm - KINO collagen pancakes (587 calories)
Meal 2: 6pm - turkey meatloaf with potatoes (1200 calories)
Meal 3: 8pm - Magnum ice cream bar (280 calories)
So here were looking at a meal plan containing roughly 2000 – 2100 calories.
190g of carbs
75g of fat
148g of protein
(40%c/33%f/29%p)
This recipe is so simple and convenient for you to structure into your daily diet plan. Like I mentioned above I suggest slicing this meatloaf into 8, leaving you with approximately 230 calories per slice. If you are eating a 1200 calorie feast then you can indulge in 3 or 4 slices easily.
