Kinobody welcomes guest author, Trent McCloskey who, despite always struggling to gain muscle and strength, took his physique to astonishing heights while staying chiseled to the bone.
Trent took his physique to godlike level after just a few months of following the Greek God Program and even developed a whole new outlook on life!
It this post, I wanted to talk with him about his transformation experience and his best tips he used to win First Place in the first ever Kinobody Transformation Challenge.
Hope you enjoy it…
WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Almost three years ago to this day, I entered the first ever Kinobody Transformation Challenge.
Time flies doesn’t it?
I stumbled upon Kinobody after thinking I’ve tried everything without seeing any spectacular results. I figured I had nothing left to lose, so I invested into the Greek God Program – seeing that Greg was jacked and I wanted that too.
It just so happened that the Contest was about to begin and it was free to enter (same with this year). Again, what did I have to lose?
I’m beyond excited and honored to be here sharing the core strategies that helped me reach an incredible transformation – in hopes to prepare those entering The Kinobody 2017 Transformation Challenge.
Now of course, the fundamentals still need to be in place in order to get results:
- Eating based on your goals…
- Training properly…
- Pushing yourself…
- Sleeping enough…
- Tracking your progress…
I wanted to talk about a few different things that helped me stay consistent and stick to the plan.
The goal here is to give you some insight on what to do to last long enough on your journey and actually see amazing results.
THE CORE STRATEGIES
There’s my transformation photos from the first Challenge.
What’s still crazy to me is that I only gained six pounds of muscle during the three months of the contest.
It just goes to show that you don’t need to gain 20-30 pounds of muscle to look great if you know how to strategically add muscle to the right places on your body.
Alright, let’s dive right in and get on with the core strategies:
FOLLOW THE PROGRAM
Greg is in amazing shape (definitely an understatement there, ha) and created all of the Kinobody Programs. That was enough for me to go “all in” and give it everything I had.
I wanted what he had more than anything at the time.
There was no program hopping or even trying to tweak the Greek God Program from how it’s laid out.
I had a contest to win in only three months time. There was no time to mess around and experiment with different things or even question if it was working or not.
I had to completely trust the process and believe that in three months, if I did everything the program instructed and gave it my all – my transformation was going to be astonishing.
So no matter if you’re entering the:
- Women’s Division
- Men’s Fat Loss Division
- Men’s Muscle Building Division
Whatever program you decide to follow, follow that program to its entirety and trust the process. You won’t be disappointed.
EAT THE SAME FOODS
The next thing I did during the three months was pretty much eat the same meals throughout.
The main reason for this is because I knew the exact calories and macros I was getting.
It did take a couple weeks to figured out the best amount of calories to eat on training and rest days to keep fat gain to a minimal while also making great muscle and strength gains…
Once that was figured out, why change it?
Now, I am a pretty simple guy that can eat the same meals pretty consistently.
What I did was have around three different lunch and dinner meals that I could rotate throughout the week.
This was enough to give me some variation, but not crazy enough to throw off my calories and macros.
Another plus side is that since I knew what I was eating, it took the burden of counting calories so obsessively off of me.
REMEMBER YOUR REASON WHY
I made the decision to change the way my body looked and felt.
There was no turning back.
I set sail, and burned the ships when I arrived, so to speak.
No matter what, I would find a way and never give up.
That, tied with your reason “why” gives you power.
Power over your emotions, your actions, and helps you develop the commitment to stick to the plan long enough to see results…
-Even if you mess up.
-Even if you run into a set back.
Are you ready to make 2017 your best year yet and crush your fitness goals?
I encourage you to gather your reason(s) why you want to make the change.
Don’t be afraid to keep digging deeper and deeper for that core reason “why.”
That’s what I did and every time I set foot in the gym, I took a moment to remember why I started in the first place.
Even that was enough to get me fired up and ready to hit my workout.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I hope those strategies help you build your best body ever.
I’ll see all of you in the Challenge!
And remember:
1) Follow the program exactly how it’s laid out
2) Stick to a few of your favorite meals for consistency
3) Remember your reason why each day
